東日本国際大学は令和5年度より5年間、文部科学省の「大学の世界展開力強化事業」の採択校となり、日米の大学間交流による復興創生事業が始動しました。本事業は、国際的に活躍できるグローバル人材の育成を目指すもので、当事者意識を持った学生たちが、地域課題の解決に挑みます。
その中核プログラムの一つである国際地域共修「米国ハンフォード学生福島等研修（夏季インバウンド研修） 」では、アメリカ・ワシントン州から来日した大学生と教員が、日本の学生と共に長崎・広島・福島浜通りを巡り、ともに学び、交流しました。
戦後80年の節目の年に行われたこのプログラムでは、平和・復興・地域創生をテーマに、現地の方々との対話やフィールドワークを通じて、かけがえのない経験を共有しました。

University students and faculty from Washington State, USA, visited Japan to travel with Japanese students through Nagasaki, Hiroshima, and the Hamadori region of Fukushima.
Held in the milestone year marking 80 years since the end of World War II, the program focused on peace, post-disaster recovery, and regional revitalization, creating invaluable shared experiences through dialogue and fieldwork with local communities.
